Dementia care in Canada is at an important moment, with the release of the National Standard, CSA Z2000:26, Dementia inclusive home and community care. This webinar brings together perspectives from government, practitioners, and individuals with lived experience to explore how the standard can support more consistent, person-centered care across the country.

Neha Oberoi, Project Manager, Health Care and Well-being, CSA Group
Neha Oberoi is a Health Care and Well-being Project Manager at CSA Group. She leads the development of national standards that enhance quality, safety, and innovation in home and community care. She is a kinesiologist with experience across hospital, community, and home care settings.

Jae Yon Jones, Regional Director, Quality, Education and Research, Long-Term Care and Assisted Living, Island Health
Jae Yon is the Regional Director for Quality, Education and Research for Long-term Care and Assisted Living program at Island Health. With a healthcare career spanning 32 years, Jae Yon’s clinical background is in medical laboratory medicine. As the section head of the microbiology department, she led accreditation and other major projects for system changes. Her progressive leadership roles include project coordination of opening two new hospital campuses, managing a 100 bed LTC home, COVID prevention lead. Her current role and responsibilities have helped system wide improvements in quality assurance and quality improvement for LTC staff, residents and their families. She has been involved in several CSA Group committees to develop standards to improve and promote person-centered care (Z8004:22, Z2004:24, Z2000:26). In 2026, Jae Yon was awarded Health Quality BC's Doug Cochrane Leadership in Quality Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership in advancing quality improvement and resident-centred care in long-term care.
Jim Mann, Researcher with Lived Experience
Jim Mann lives with Alzheimer's disease and is a researcher, educator, and speaker who incorporates his lived experience into his work.
His attention is focused on: (1) the meaningful and ethical engagement of people with dementia; (2) the stigma of dementia for people living with dementia; and (3) the use of technology to benefit people with dementia living in the community, long-term care, and hospitals.
In 2020, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by the University of British Columbia for his work in these areas since his diagnosis in 2007.
Heidi Croucher,
M.AEd., BSc.O.T., Senior Manager, Strategic Operations, Home Care, Yukon Government
Heidi Croucher is a registered occupational therapist and Senior Manager of Strategic Operations with the Yukon Government's Home Care Program. With more than 20 years of experience delivering healthcare in rural and remote communities across Canada, Heidi is passionate about advancing health equity, supporting client and staff safety, and leading health system transformation to deliver high-quality, person-centered care in northern communities.
Heidi has served as a member of the CSA Technical Committee for Home and Community Care since 2022 and has contributed to the development of national standards through subcommittees responsible for CSA Z2202, Technology in Home and Community Care Settings and CSA Z2000, Dementia Inclusive Home and Community Care. She is committed to strengthening home and community care through collaborative, evidence-informed approaches that improve outcomes for individuals, care partners, and care providers.
Miranda Romanowicz, CEO, Canadian Support Workers Association
Miranda Romanowicz is CEO and Co-Founder of the Ontario Personal Support Workers Association and Canadian Support Workers Association. A former frontline PSW, she is a leading healthcare advocate who champions the recognition, professionalization, and advancement of support workers across Canada.
